I’m going to share a bit about my journey, one that started from humble beginnings. Growing up, my reality was closer to dirt poor. My dad spent most of his life in shacks meant for fruit pickers, and my mom did her best to keep us afloat. Safety and security were concepts not quite tangible in my early years.
But this isn’t a story of blame or regret. On the contrary, I’m grateful. This background has granted me a unique lens to understand the lives of many entrepreneurs, especially those who have tread similar paths. And the core of these experiences? It all boils down to how each person manages their mindset.
If you lack clarity on how your thoughts work to safeguard you, breaking free from your comfort zone to dominate your reality becomes a Herculean task.
The fundamental truth is that our inner world reflects our outer world. If you fix an external problem without addressing the internal cause, the problem will inevitably resurface.

Take my journey, for instance. I broke the poverty cycle, or so I thought, by building a company worth $2.69 million in 8-9 months through direct sales. But aligning with the wrong crowd led me to lose it all shortly after. Or consider the times I made hefty deposits into businesses, ran them successfully, only to see them crash due to overlooked flaws in business culture.
This pattern led me to an epiphany, both in my life and while helping others reach the six-figure mark: most people DO NOT DOMINATE their thoughts. They leave themselves vulnerable to negative thought patterns that skew their balance, tipping them too far on one side of rationality.
Often, by the time they realize what’s happening, it’s too late. They find themselves trapped in vices or excesses that harm both them and their business. So, what are the key thoughts you need to guard against?
Fear: It’s the barrier that keeps you from taking risks and embracing growth opportunities.
Guilt and Shame: These emotions anchor you to the past, hindering progress and self-forgiveness.
Comfort and Ease: Staying in your comfort zone might feel safe, but it stifles innovation and growth.
To thrive, especially in the realm of entrepreneurship, these elements have no place in your life. You must assert dominion over your mindset, especially when making decisions that affect not just you but others as well.
Remember, in the game of making money, your personal life and business life are intricately intertwined. The strategies you employ to navigate your inner world significantly impact your entrepreneurial journey.
